French Dolls

Lovely French dolls are just beautiful to enjoy. I sometimes wonder how the artisans of the past made these wonderful dolls with such limited resources. These dolls had beautiful bisque faces, incredible hand blown glass eyes, soft realistic handmade wigs and of course their incredible costumes that were miniatures of the fashions of the day.

In reproducing French dolls, great care is taken in the overall coloring, shaping of the eyes and brows, and all aspects of painting a beautiful face. I choose only the best glass eyes available and English mohair or human hair wigs for the authentic look of a French doll. In each phase of creating a doll, many hours of thought and planning goes into making your order to perfection.

Jumeau dolls are always a favorite of most collectors for their beautiful face and wonderful elaborate clothing.

Stobe' is another wonderful French doll that is just beautiful and with her violet eyes, she just melts your heart.

Of course we can not forget about the Bleuettes. Originally started in Paris for young girls to learn to sew, the Bleuettes have once again become very popular with the collector. This Bleuette is sporting a garden dress but can also be ordered without clothing for the sewing collector.
